Second Comes Marriage | Kim & Scott | Seattle, WA

So I've mentioned her before on the blog, but this is the first time I've had the opportunity to work with Katie. Katie Brase is one amazing mother, loving wife, caring friend, and fantabulous photographer. I feel so lucky Saleina introduced us when I first moved here.  I am honored to call Katie my friend. Ok... enough sappy stuff...  I assisted Katie at Kim & Scott's wedding in Seattle. Talk about two calm and cool people. They were so fun to photograph and so fun to get to know. I wish you and your families a lifetime of happiness!

First Comes Love | Suzi & Sean | Seattle, WA

First comes love! And these two are oozing love! You can see it when she looks at him. You can hear it when they laugh together.  And you can feel it by just being with them. I spent the afternoon with the happy couple and Saleina exploring downtown Seattle for their engagement shoot. These shots were from our last stop... Alki Beach aka the place where Sean asked Suzi to to spend the rest of their lives together... in bright lights (Check out Saleina's blog for more!)
It was my first time to Alki Beach... the view is spectacular! Suzi and Sean are pretty spectacular too!

Bye Bye Little Boy | Jax | Bainbridge Island, WA

Bye Bye Little Boy.
He's been walking, talking, and climbing for months. But it took his first haircut for me to really accept  my baby boy is growing up. I tried to hold on to his babyhood as long as I could. At 17 months, he was beginning to push his hair from his eyes and the cute little whispies in the back of his head totally looked like a mullet. Or as Guy likes to say... "hockey hair." So armed with milk, juice, crackers, toys, and tissues (for me), the three of us headed to Sandie's Barber Shop in downtown Winslow. They've been around forever and were very excited to have Jax as a first-time customer.
Jax was almost tear-free right up into the end.

As he expressed his emotions on the outside, my heart was breaking on the inside.  With every snip, he began to look older and older. After he was done, I whispered in his ear, "Jax, you will always be my little boy and I'll always be there to wipe away your tears."

Ahhh Fendi | A friendly Challenge

Ahhh Fendi. I heart you. We met in 2001 at your Venice home. I immediately knew you were the one. The perfect wallet to stash my pesetas in. From the way you closed, how you fit neatly in my purse, to your pretty "F's", I was in love. I skipped meals to pay for you. For nine years, you never let me down.  Every time I held you into my hands you put a smile on my face. By just feeling you in my hands, I was taken back to my semester abroad in Spain. Soon though your age began to show. I tried to fix you. The Fendi man said you were beyond repair. I did not want to give up on you. I even looked to see if you had a twin. The Fendi man (mean Fendi man) said you were an original.  None of your younger siblings could even compare.  In the end, it was time to replace you. While I like (not love) your replacement, it makes me smile. Smile because every time I hold it in my hands... I think of you.
Ahhh Fendi.

The Director's Comment:
You know it is time for a break when you write a love note to your ten year old wallet.
Love, The Director
* For the record, I would like to add The Director has a similar relationship with a certain Furla wallet.

Slacker | Valentine Boobies | A Friendly Challenge

Slacker. Yes, that's me. I was all about posting by weekly picture for The Director to make a comment, but I lost the challenge without even really starting. I kinda thought while The Director was in Costa Rica for the week, I got a free pass. So not true. She totally called me out on the lack of posts saying, "Hello, they do have internet in Costa Rica." (Ms. Director that's not what you told your work... I'm just saying.)

Anyway, here is a little photo of the card Mr. and Mrs. Director sent to Guy and me for Valentine's Day.
Aren't the Director's romantic?

Rockin' the Bridal Show | South Sound Bridal Show | Olympia

Bridal Show Virgin. I actually never went to one as a bride-to-be. It didn't make sense since I was living in New York and Maine and my wedding was in Pittsburgh. My mom on the other hand has gone to her fair share. She even went to one in Pittsburgh this past weekend... yes I've been married for almost three years. I'll save more on my mom and her bridal show "groupiness" for a future post. Love you mom!

Okay, so back to the South Sound Bridal Show. I went with Saleina from Saleina Marie Photography and she totally rocked it!
