Bye Bye Little Boy.
He's been walking, talking, and climbing for months. But it took his first haircut for me to really accept my baby boy is growing up. I tried to hold on to his babyhood as long as I could. At 17 months, he was beginning to push his hair from his eyes and the cute little whispies in the back of his head totally looked like a mullet. Or as Guy likes to say... "hockey hair." So armed with milk, juice, crackers, toys, and tissues (for me), the three of us headed to Sandie's Barber Shop in downtown Winslow. They've been around forever and were very excited to have Jax as a first-time customer.
Jax was almost tear-free right up into the end.
As he expressed his emotions on the outside, my heart was breaking on the inside. With every snip, he began to look older and older. After he was done, I whispered in his ear, "Jax, you will always be my little boy and I'll always be there to wipe away your tears."

Ahhh...first hair cuts. I remember them well. Fun picture...he still SO cute even when he's screamin' xo, sme
